Base Attributes
  • Awareness (Mental Control)
  • Dexterity (Physical Control)
  • Knowledge (Mental Power)
  • Strength (Physical Power)

Optional Attributes
  • 'Extranormal' (Extranormal Control): Arcana, Channel, Power, and Psi.
  • Technical (Technological Control)

The 4 base attributes are for all eras of game play; from fantasy to the modern era with only the addition of a couple of modern skills. For science fiction gaming we add the Technical attribute and skills, also adding an extra 3D to starting attribute dice (base 12D+3D). For fantastic elements such as magic or psionics we introduce one or more extranormal attributes. Starting attribute dice do not increase when an extranormal attribute option is added.

So for a Babylon 5 game we might add the Technical attribute and the Psi attribute and characters would begin play with 15D starting attribute dice to be distributed among their five attributes and the Psi attribute.

For a game in Paizo's Golarion setting we might add Arcana and Channel (divine/sorcery) attributes to represent magic. Characters must divide their starting attribute dice (12D) between their base attributes and any extranormal attributes they wish to have. A starting character could have 1D in Arcana and Channel but would only have 10D left to spend on their other 4 base attributes making them weaker and not very good at any extranormal skills. At character creation, 1D in an extranormal attribute represents dabbling or a natural untrained talent, 2D represents some training, and 3D represents a character that has done little else in their life besides learning to use their extranormal power.

The Power attribute is for super power games.
